About
This is a data management company located in Pittsburgh, PA which offers enterprise consulting and managed services for both cloud and on-premise environments.
The organization delivers valuable messages and thought leadership to B2B customers and prospects. But like many other organizations, the quality of their data was deteriorating as contacts moved to different positions or companies. It became crucial to ensure that their message was reaching the right person at the right time, not only to increase their bottom line but also to provide necessary expertise and value to their clients.
According to Webbula’s findings: after using another email verification tool, 2-3% of their email addresses on the list were still invalid.
The Challenge
They were only using email verification
Before using Webbula for their Data Verification and Threat Detection service, they were using a verification-only tool from a third-party data vendor. But their bounce rate was almost 18%, which made it difficult for their emails to reach the intended recipient’s inbox.
At that time they were unaware of the limitations of the previous tool. They believed that utilizing an email verification solution would be sufficient to enhance their email deliverability rate, sender reputation score and boost their front-end metrics; like open rates, click rates and bounce rates.
They used this verification-only tool to communicate with a large number of people and to find any outdated contacts that no longer work. They discovered that even though they were doing a basic email verification check, their emails were still having problems because some email addresses like spam traps, temporary domains and bot email addresses were able to pass through the verification despite being invalid.
The Solution
After finding Webbula, they were able to benefit from our verification and threat detection features in several ways. Aside from using a basic email verification solution, Webbula was also able to delve into the underlying issues with their problematic emails, pinpointing the root causes of their high bounce rate and low deliverability.
- According to Webbula’s findings: after using another email verification tool, 2-3% of their email addresses on the list were still invalid.
- Although B2B data often includes email addresses labeled as “unknown” or “accept-all”, activity trajectory data was used to identify emails that may have become inactive but hadn’t been labeled as Invalid yet.
- Out of all the records captured, 4% were categorized as threats. Among these threats, 2.8% were categorized in the highest threat levels, namely Reputation and Fraud.
The Results
The data management company used Webbula’s Email Hygiene solution to filter their email list and determine which emails to retain and which to remove before proceeding with their campaigns. By getting rid of invalid email addresses, such as spam traps, botsand other threats to their reputation and security, their bounce rate improved significantly to just 0.7%. This boosted their email deliverability and sender reputation, allowing them to send messages to the right prospects and customers at the right time.
